It Started With a Google search
Some celebrations start with a simple enquiry. Harvey’s began with a Google search for caricatures—and a picture showing us exactly what he had in mind.
After finding Pic Me Photo Pods, Harvey sent us an image he had created using an app. He wanted us to bring that style to his 70th birthday celebration, giving his guests their own playful portraits to take home.
It was a lovely, personal idea, and getting the look right became an important part of our preparations.
A Personal Brief
Right Down to the Waistlines
Harvey knew what he wanted: younger-looking guests, slimmer waistlines and a flattering caricature style that would make everyone smile.
He also wanted the printed pictures presented in sleeves, giving each guest a finished keepsake from the evening.
That reference image gave us a clear direction. Our job was to turn it into an AI photo booth experience that captured the fun Harvey had imagined.
The Hours Behind the Smiles
Long before the party, we spent hours writing and refining prompts, testing different software and comparing the results with Harvey’s reference.
Small changes made a real difference. We worked on the balance between a recognisable face, a youthful appearance and the playful exaggeration that makes a caricature so enjoyable.
We kept testing until we found the look Harvey wanted. By the time we packed for the celebration, those hours of preparation had helped us create something personal to his evening.
From Southampton to Ashdown Park
With everything prepared, we made the two-hour journey from Southampton to Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club.
The impressive hotel provided a wonderful setting for Harvey’s milestone birthday, and the friendly staff made us feel welcome.
It was a pleasure to arrive at such a beautiful venue with an experience we had spent so much time shaping for the occasion.
The Moment Guests Saw Their Caricatures
The best part of the evening was watching guests receive their pictures.
There was laughter, surprise and sheer delight as they saw their younger-looking caricatures and shared the results with one another. Those reactions made all the preparation worthwhile.
Using AI, our photo booth transformed the photographs into the style developed for Harvey. Each print was then presented in a sleeve, ready to take home—a personal souvenir of a very happy celebration.
A Keepsake for Guests—and One for Harvey
Harvey’s plans extended beyond the party itself.
Alongside the sleeved prints for his guests, the brief included a hardback coffee-table book featuring every photograph taken on the night.
Bringing those pictures together will give Harvey a lasting record of the celebration: familiar faces, playful portraits and memories he can revisit long after his 70th birthday.
