The room looked fantastic throughout the day, and as the evening celebrations got underway it completely came to life with the chandeliers, stage lighting and packed dance floor.
Wedding photography was by Footprints Through The Lens Photography, while we provided the wedding photo booth experience for the evening celebrations.
The Gatsby Room at Old Thorns
One of the things we loved about Old Thorns was the sense of arrival. The timber beams and long entrance into the venue have loads of character before you even reach the Gatsby Room.
Once inside, the style changes completely. The Gatsby Room is bright and elegant during the day, with its statement chandeliers and black-and-white detailing, but later in the evening the lighting transforms the space into a proper party venue.
It was a great setting for Ashleigh and George’s celebrations.
We positioned the photo booth to one side of the Gatsby Room, giving guests plenty of room to get together in front of the floral backdrop without interrupting the main reception space.
The setup included our white heart photo booth, floral backdrop, prop station and print area.
We always want a wedding photo booth to feel like part of the wedding rather than something that has simply been dropped into the corner of the room, and the white booth and soft flowers worked particularly well against the Gatsby Room’s darker flooring and décor.
Then the guests took over!
Once guests discovered the props and the first few people stepped in front of the camera, the photo booth quickly developed a life of its own.
Ashleigh and George’s guests certainly didn't need much encouragement. Hats, glasses, signs and friends squeezing together for a photograph — exactly what a wedding photo booth should be.
